Pasta

Method

Cooking Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta and set aside.

Making Cheese Sauce

  1. 2

    Prepare the Roux

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the all-purpose flour and whisk continuously for about 1-2 minutes until golden and bubbly.

  2. 3

    Add Milk

Slowly pour in the milk while whisking to prevent lumps. Continue to whisk until the mixture thickens, about 3-5 minutes.

  3. 4

    Incorporate Cheeses

Reduce the heat to low and add the shredded cheddar cheese and grated parmesan cheese to the sauce. Stir until the cheeses have melted and the sauce is smooth.

  4. 5

    Season the Sauce

Season the cheese sauce with salt, black pepper, and paprika to taste. Adjust the flavors as necessary.

Combine and Serve

  1. 6

    Mix Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained penne pasta to the cheese sauce. Stir well to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

  2. 7

    Serve

Spoon the mac-n-cheese into bowls and serve warm. Enjoy your delicious Kid's Mac-N-Cheese!
