Method

Preparing the Mushrooms

  1. 1

    Clean the Mushrooms

Gently wipe the large portobello mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt.

  2. 2

    Remove Stems

Carefully remove the stems from the mushrooms and set them aside for later use in another recipe, if desired.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Making the Crab Filling

  1. 4

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the jumbo lump crab meat, cream cheese, minced garlic, chopped green onions, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to avoid breaking up the crab meat.

  2. 5

    Stuff the Mushrooms

Spoon the crab filling into each mushroom cap, pressing lightly to pack the filling.

Making the Lemon Butter

  1. 6

    Prepare Lemon Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Stir in the lemon zest and chopped parsley, allowing the mixture to infuse for a couple of minutes.

Baking the Mushrooms

  1. 7

    Bake

Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and drizzle with the lemon butter mixture. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is lightly browned.

  2. 8

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy warm!
