Brownies

Salted Chocolate Ganache

Method

Brownies

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar and brown sugar until combined.

  3. 3

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

  5. 5

    Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Bake the Brownies

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  7. 7

    Cool the Brownies

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before cutting into squares.

Salted Chocolate Ganache

  1. 8

    Heat the Cream

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.

  2. 9

    Melt the Chocolate

Remove the saucepan from heat and add the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth.

  3. 10

    Add Salt

Stir in the sea salt until fully dissolved. Allow the ganache to cool slightly before using.

Assembly

  1. 11

    Serve the Brownie Sundae

Place a warm brownie square in a bowl, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top, and drizzle generously with the salted chocolate ganache.

  2. 12

    Garnish

Finish with chocolate shavings or sprinkles on top, if desired.
