Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Pat the Black Angus Flat Iron Steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak to the skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting the time according to your preferred doneness.

  3. 3

    Add Fresh Herbs

During the last minute of cooking, add fresh rosemary to the skillet for flavor. Baste the steak with the oil and rosemary.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Sides Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Boil peeled and chopped potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and mash with roasted garlic, butter, milk, salt, and pepper to taste.

  2. 6

    Steam Broccoli

While the potatoes are boiling, steam the broccoli until bright green and tender, about 5-7 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt.
