Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Mushrooms

Using a damp cloth or paper towel, gently wipe the mushrooms to remove any dirt. Do not soak them in water as they can become soggy.

  2. 2

    Chop the Vegetables

Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic. Chop the fresh parsley and set aside for garnish.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Sauté the Onions and Garlic

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent. Then add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.

  2. 4

    Add the Mushrooms

Increase the heat to medium-high and add the cleaned and sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Stir well to combine with the onions and garlic.

  3. 5

    Season and Cook

Sprinkle the salt and black pepper over the mushrooms. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are browned and tender. If the mushrooms release too much liquid, increase the heat to help evaporate it.

  4. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Once the mushrooms are cooked through, remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Serve warm as a delicious topping or side dish.
