Ice Cream Preparation

Make the Ice Cream Base
In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat until the mixture is warm but not boiling. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, then slowly add a small amount of the warm cream mixture to temper the eggs. Gradually add the tempered egg mixture back to the saucepan, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens slightly.

Churn the Ice Cream
Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. Transfer to a lidded container and freeze until firm.

Chill the Mixture
Transfer the mixture to a container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Churn the Sorbet
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency. Transfer to a lidded container and freeze until firm.
