For the Cake

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Combine Mixtures
Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the chopped apples. Mix until just combined.

Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cook Mixture
Continue to cook on medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon (about 10-15 minutes).

Chill and Churn
Remove from heat and chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Once chilled, churn in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Add Butter and Cream
Carefully add the butter and cream, stirring continuously until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
To Assemble

Serve
Slice the warm apple cake and place a piece on each plate. Top with a scoop of cinnamon ice cream, drizzle with caramel sauce, and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
