Method
Prepare the Clams

Clean the Clams
Rinse the Maine whole belly clams under cold water to remove any sand or debris.

In a shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.

Heat the Oil
In a large frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

Fry the breaded clams in the hot oil for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, shredded carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Toss until well combined.

Cover the coleslaw and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
