Haddock Nuggets Preparation

Prepare the Haddock
Cut the fresh haddock fillets into bite-sized chunks.

Bread the Haddock
Dip each chunk of haddock first into the flour, then into the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Ensure each piece is fully covered.

Fry the Nuggets
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the breaded haddock nuggets in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Combine Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded cabbage and grated carrots.

Make Dressing
In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper until smooth.

Mix Slaw
Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots, tossing to combine well. Adjust seasoning to taste. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips for fries.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the potato strips in batches until golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels, immediately sprinkling with salt.

Serve the crispy haddock nuggets warm alongside the coleslaw and short cut fries. Offer tartar and cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
