Cooking the Pasta
- 1
Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
- 2
Cook the Fettuccine
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Prepare the Chicken
Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.

Slice the Chicken
Once cooked, remove from heat and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing into strips.
Making the Alfredo Sauce
- 7
Melt the Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.
- 8
Add Garlic and Cream
Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, then slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly.
- 9
Add Cheese and Nutmeg
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy. Add a pinch of nutmeg for flavor.
Combining Everything
- 10
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.
- 11
