Prepare the Coffee Mixture
Brew the espresso coffee and let it cool. If using, mix in the coffee liqueur.

Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until smooth and creamy.

Soak the Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso mixture for about 1-2 seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer the Tiramisu
In a rectangular dish, place a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and then the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.
