Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Rice

Rinse the white rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a pot, combine the rice with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes until all the water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Salmon

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Brush the salmon fillets with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Place the salmon skin-side down on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, brushing with teriyaki sauce during the last minute of cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steak

Season the steak with salt and pepper. In the same skillet or on the grill, cook the steak to your desired doneness (about 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare). Brush with teriyaki sauce during the last minute of cooking.

  4. 4

    Prepare Miso Soup

In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the miso paste and stir until dissolved. You can add green onions for flavor. Simmer for 5 minutes and remove from heat.

  5. 5

    Assemble Salad

In a large bowl, combine mixed salad greens with your choice of dressing. Toss to coat evenly.

  6. 6

    Serve

Plate the salmon and steak alongside a serving of white rice, salad, and a bowl of miso soup. Garnish with sesame seeds on the salmon if desired.
