Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Scallops

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Season scallops with salt and pepper, then add them to the skillet. Sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Drizzle with lemon juice before serving.

  2. 2

    Make the Salad

In a bowl, combine mixed greens, sliced cucumber, and halved cherry tomatoes. Drizzle with sesame dressing and toss to combine.

  3. 3

    Prepare Miso Soup

In a pot, heat dashi stock and whisk in miso paste until dissolved. Add diced tofu and sliced green onions, and simmer for 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Cook White Rice

Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  5. 5

    Make California Roll

Prepare sushi rice according to package instructions. Lay a nori sheet on a bamboo mat, spread sushi rice, and fill with cucumber, surimi, and avocado. Roll tightly and slice into pieces.

  6. 6

    Prepare Shrimp Tempura

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan. In a bowl, mix tempura batter with ice water until just combined. Dip shrimp in batter and fry until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

  7. 7

    Prepare Sashimi

Slice fresh fish into thin pieces and arrange neatly on a plate.

  8. 8

    Make Shumai

In a bowl, mix ground pork with chopped green onions and soy sauce. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each shumai wrapper, gather the edges, and steam for 6-8 minutes until cooked through.
