Biscuit and Filling Ingredients
Method
Preparation Steps
- 1
Make the Biscuits
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and garlic powder. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the buttermilk until just combined. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently. Roll out to about 1-inch thickness, then cut into rounds.
- 2
Bake the Biscuits
Place the biscuit rounds on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
- 3
Cook the Sausage
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through. Break it into small pieces as it cooks.
- 4
Prepare the Soufflé Eggs
In a bowl, whisk the eggs until well beaten. Pour the eggs into a greased oven-safe dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until puffed and set.
- 5
Assemble the Biscuit
Slice the biscuits in half. On the bottom half, spread a layer of pimento cheese, then add a layer of cooked sausage, followed by a portion of the soufflé egg. Top with the other half of the biscuit.
