Comeback Sauce
Method
Preparing the Fried Green Tomatoes

Slice the Tomatoes
Wash and slice the green tomatoes into 1/4 inch thick slices.

Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow dishes, place flour in one, whisked eggs with milk in the second, and cornmeal mixed with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper in the third.

Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.

Fry the Tomatoes
Carefully add the breaded tomato slices to the skillet in batches, frying for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

Drain and Keep Warm
Remove the fried tomatoes and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Keep warm in a low oven.
Making the Comeback Sauce

Combine Ingredients
In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt. Mix well.

Serve the fried green tomatoes hot with the comeback sauce on the side.
