Method

Cooking Filet Mignon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steaks

Take the filet mignon steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Steaks

Rub the steaks with olive oil, then season generously with salt and black pepper. Press the minced garlic and fresh rosemary onto both sides of the steaks.

  3. 3

    Cook the Steaks

Heat a skillet over high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest.

Cooking Green Beans

  1. 4

    Prepare the Green Beans

Trim the ends of the green beans and rinse them thoroughly.

  2. 5

    Sauté the Green Beans

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add the green beans, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender yet crisp.

Making Spätzle

  1. 6

    Prepare the Spätzle Dough

In a large bowl, mix flour, eggs, milk, salt, and nutmeg until smooth. The dough should be thick but pourable.

  2. 7

    Cook the Spätzle

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Using a spätzle maker or a colander, press the dough into the boiling water. Cook until they float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon.

  3. 8

    Finish the Spätzle

In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add the cooked spätzle. Sauté for a few minutes until lightly browned.
