Clam Chowder Ingredients

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bacon

In a large pot, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pot.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same pot, add the chopped onion and celery to the bacon fat. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  3. 3

    Add Potatoes and Broth

Stir in the diced potatoes, chicken broth, and thyme. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  4. 4

    Incorporate Clams and Cream

Once the potatoes are tender, add the chopped clams and heavy cream to the pot. Stir well and heat through without boiling.

  5. 5

    Season and Serve

Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot, garnished with crispy bacon and chopped parsley.
