Fried Shrimp Taco Ingredients
Method
Fried Shrimp Taco Directions
Prepare the Shrimp
In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Add the shrimp and let it marinate for about 30 minutes.
Prepare the Breading
In another bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour and cornstarch.
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Bread the Shrimp
Remove the shrimp from the marinade and dredge each shrimp in the flour and cornstarch mixture, shaking off the excess.
Fry the Shrimp
Carefully add the breaded shrimp to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
Make the Coleslaw
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, shredded carrot, mayonnaise, hot sauce, lime juice, and chopped cilantro. Mix well to combine.
Assemble the Tacos
Warm the soft tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave. To assemble, place a few pieces of fried shrimp on each tortilla, top with the coleslaw, and drizzle with additional Shack sauce if desired.
Serve
Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side.
