Method
Brewing Instructions
- 1
Mashing
Heat 5 gallons of water to 165°F (74°C). Add Pale Malt, Flaked Oats, and Carapils Malt to the water and maintain the temperature for 60 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- 2
Sparging
After mashing, sparge the grains with hot water to collect about 6 gallons of wort.
- 3
Boiling
Bring the wort to a boil. Once boiling, add Citra Hops and boil for 60 minutes, adding Mosaic Hops in the last 15 minutes of the boil.
- 4
Cooling
Cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or ice bath until it reaches about 70°F (21°C).
- 5
Fermentation
Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Add the yeast, seal, and ferment for 1-2 weeks at 68-72°F (20-22°C).
- 6
Bottling
Once fermentation is complete, dissolve priming sugar in a small amount of water and add to the beer before bottling. Bottle and cap the beer.
- 7
Carbonation
Let the bottles sit at room temperature for about 1-2 weeks to carbonate before refrigerating.
- 8
Enjoy
Chill the bottles and enjoy your refreshing Juicy Jack Hazy IPA!
