HefeWeizen Ingredients

Method

Brewing Directions

1

Mashing

In a large brew kettle, heat 6 liters of water to 65°C (149°F). Add the pale malt and wheat malt, stirring well. Maintain the temperature for 60 minutes.

2

Lautering

After mashing, sparge the grains with additional water to collect 6 liters of wort.

3

Boiling

Bring the wort to a boil. Add the hops and boil for 60 minutes.

4

Cooling

After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath.

5

Fermentation

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Pitch the yeast and seal with an airlock. Ferment at 20-22°C (68-72°F) for 1-2 weeks.

6

Bottling

After fermentation is complete, dissolve the priming sugar in a small amount of boiling water and add it to the beer. Bottle the beer and cap.

7

Conditioning

Allow the bottled beer to condition at room temperature for 1-2 weeks before refrigerating.

8

Enjoy

Serve chilled and enjoy your homemade HefeWeizen!
