Method
Cooking Pasta
- 1
Boil the Water
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.
- 2
Cook the Spaghetti
Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions (about 8-10 minutes) until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Making Meatballs
- 3
Prepare the Mixture
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 4
Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about the size of a golf ball. You should get around 8-10 meatballs.
- 5
Cook the Meatballs
In a skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.
Making Meat Sauce
- 6
Sauté the Onion and Garlic
In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.
- 7
Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in canned tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and basil. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- 8
Combine with Meatballs
Add the cooked meatballs back into the sauce and simmer for another 5 minutes.
