Method
Preparing the Pasta
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 2
Drain the Pasta
Once the pasta is cooked, reserve about 1 cup of the pasta water, then drain the rest. Set the pasta aside.
Making the Alfredo Sauce
- 3
Melt the Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.
- 4
- 5
Add Heavy Cream
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir frequently for about 3-5 minutes.
- 6
Incorporate Parmesan Cheese
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
- 7
Season the Sauce
Add salt and black pepper to taste. Adjust seasoning as needed.
Combining Pasta and Sauce
- 8
Combine Fettuccine with Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine pasta to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss well to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
- 9
Serve
Plate the fettuccine Alfredo, and garnish with chopped parsley before serving. Enjoy your creamy dish!
