Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare Fig Jam
If you're making homemade fig jam, combine 1 cup of chopped figs, 1/2 cup of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat until the figs break down and the mixture thickens, about 20 minutes. Let it cool before serving.
- 2
Prepare the Fruits
Wash the grapes under cold running water and pat them dry. Core and slice the apples into thin wedges, leaving the skin on for added color and texture.
- 3
Slice the Baguette
Cut the baguette into diagonal slices, about 1 inch thick, to create bite-sized pieces for serving.
- 4
Arrange the Cheese
Slice assorted cheeses into cubes or wedges and arrange them on the cheese board, leaving some space between each type for easy serving.
- 5
Add Nuts
Place a small handful of assorted nuts in a small bowl or directly on the board for added crunch and flavor.
- 6
Assemble the Cheese Board
On a large wooden board or platter, arrange the fig jam, grapes, apple slices, baguette slices, cheeses, and nuts in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Serve immediately.
