Cooking Instructions
- 1
Brine the Pork Chops
In a mixing bowl, combine sweet tea, salt, brown sugar, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until salt and sugar are dissolved.
- 2
Marinate
Place the pork chops in a large resealable bag and pour the brine over them. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
- 3
Prepare for Cooking
Remove the pork chops from the brine and pat dry with paper towels. Let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.
- 4
Sear the Pork Chops
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- 5
Serve
Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes. Serve with bacon gouda mac & cheese, Southern butterbeans, and drizzle with molasses barbecue glaze and green tomato compote.
