Method

Cooking the Pork

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribs

Preheat your grill or smoker to 225°F (107°C). Season the pork ribs with salt and black pepper. Place them on the grill and smoke for about 4-5 hours until tender.

  2. 2

    Cook the Sausage

Grill or pan-fry the pork sausage until fully cooked and browned on the outside, about 15-20 minutes.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Daily Addition

Cook the daily meat addition (like pulled pork) according to your preferred method, ensuring it is well-seasoned.

Making the Rum BBQ Glaze

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, ketchup, rum, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes until thickened.

Preparing the Slaw

  1. 5

    Mix the Slaw

In a large bowl, combine red cabbage, shredded carrot, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Toss until well combined and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Making Cornbread

  1. 6

    Bake the Cornbread

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter. Combine both mixtures and pour into a greased baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.

Frying the Fries

  1. 7

    Fry the Potatoes

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot. Fry the cut potatoes until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels, seasoning with salt.
