Making the Dough

Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.

Knead the Dough
Mix until the dough comes together, then knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.

Let it Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
Assembling the Pizza

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out to your desired thickness. Place it on a pizza stone or baking sheet.

Add Sauce and Toppings
Spread tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a small border. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top. Add salt, pepper, and fresh basil if desired.

Bake the Pizza
Drizzle with olive oil and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

Remove from the oven, slice, and serve hot.
