Method

Making the Dough

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Mix until the dough comes together, then knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.

  4. 4

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 6

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out to your desired thickness. Place it on a pizza stone or baking sheet.

  3. 7

    Add Sauce and Toppings

Spread tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a small border. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top. Add salt, pepper, and fresh basil if desired.

  4. 8

    Bake the Pizza

Drizzle with olive oil and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  5. 9

    Serve

Remove from the oven, slice, and serve hot.
