Nachos
Method
Preparation
- 1
Frying Tortilla Chips
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Cut the flour tortillas into triangle-shaped pieces. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the tortilla pieces in batches and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
- 2
Draining Chips
Remove the fried tortilla chips from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while they are still hot.
- 3
Topping with Cheese and Jalapenos
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the fried tortilla chips on a baking sheet. Evenly distribute the American cheese over the chips, followed by the jalapeno slices. Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving
Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Serve hot and enjoy your Nachos Viejo!
