Muddle the Basil
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the fresh basil leaves gently to release their aroma.

Add Ingredients
Add the Old Forester bourbon, fig cordial, St. Germain, fresh lemon juice, and egg white (if using) to the shaker.

Shake
Fill the shaker with ice, secure the lid, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.

Strain
Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass. If you used egg white, you can double strain to remove any foam.

Garnish
Garnish with a basil leaf or a fig slice, if desired.
