Tres Leches Cake Ingredients

Method

Directions for Tres Leches Cake

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cake

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.

  6. 6

    Prepare the Milk Mixture

In a bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk.

  7. 7

    Soak the Cake

Once the cake is cool, poke holes all over the surface using a fork. Pour the milk mixture evenly over the cake, allowing it to soak in.

  8. 8

    Make the Meringue

In a clean bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Spread over the soaked cake.

  9. 9

    Serve

Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving. Cut into squares and enjoy!
