Flan Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Caramel

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the granulated sugar. Stir constantly until the sugar has melted and turned a golden brown color. Quickly pour the caramel into a flan mold or individual ramekins, tilting to coat the bottom evenly. Set aside to cool and harden.

  2. 2

    Mix the Flan Base

In a blender, combine the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, whole eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and well combined.

  3. 3

    Bake the Flan

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the milk mixture over the hardened caramel in the flan mold or ramekins. Place the mold in a larger baking dish and fill the baking dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan mold. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until the flan is set and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  4. 4

    Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove the flan from the water bath and let it cool to room temperature. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan, invert onto a serving plate, and enjoy!
