Churro Dough

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Churro Dough

In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball. Allow to cool slightly before adding eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat oil to 375°F (190°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting with scissors to release. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar

In a bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Roll the fried churros in the cinnamon sugar while they are still warm.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Dipping Sauces

In a small bowl, mix guava paste with water until smooth. Serve alongside condensed milk for dipping.
