Dark Chocolate Delice

Milk Chocolate Glaze

Cherry Ice Cream

Method

Dark Chocolate Delice

  1. 1

    Prepare the Baking Dish

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a round cake pan (8 inches) with butter and line the bottom with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a double boiler, stirring until smooth and fully combined. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla extract, stirring gently to combine.

  4. 4

    Add Dry Ingredients

Sift the all-purpose flour over the mixture and fold it in gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. 5

    Bake the Delice

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly soft. Allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Milk Chocolate Glaze

  1. 6

    Heat the Cream

In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.

  2. 7

    Melt Chocolate

Remove the saucepan from heat and add the milk chocolate to the hot cream. Let it sit for a minute, then stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

  3. 8

    Glaze the Delice

Once the chocolate delice has cooled completely, pour the glaze evenly over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides. Let it set for a few minutes.

Cherry Ice Cream

  1. 9

    Prepare the Cherry Mixture

In a blender, combine the pitted cherries and granulated sugar. Blend until smooth. You can leave some chunks if you prefer a chunkier texture.

  2. 10

    Mix Cream Base

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, vanilla extract, and lemon juice.

  3. 11

    Combine Cherry and Cream

Fold the cherry mixture into the cream base until well combined. Adjust sweetness to taste.

  4. 12

    Chill and Freeze

Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, pour it into a container and freeze, stirring every 30 minutes until it reaches a creamy consistency.

  5. 13

    Serve

Once the ice cream is set, scoop it onto plates alongside slices of the dark chocolate delice. Enjoy!
