Pulled Pork Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
Prepare the Rub
In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. This will be the rub for the pork.
Rub the Pork
Pat the pork shoulder dry with paper towels. Rub the spice mixture all over the pork, ensuring it's well-coated. Let it sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes or refrigerate overnight for deeper flavor.
Cook the Pork
Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Pour the apple cider vinegar and chicken broth over the pork. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls apart with a fork.
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes. Use two forks to shred the meat into bite-sized pieces.
Mix with BBQ Sauce
Toss the shredded pork with BBQ sauce until well coated. You can add more sauce based on your preference.
Serve
Serve the pulled pork on buns, with coleslaw, or as desired. Enjoy!
