Fried Pickles
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pickles
Drain the dill pickle slices and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Make the Coating
In a bowl, mix together the flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Dip the Pickles
Pour the buttermilk into a shallow dish. Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk, followed by the coating mixture. Ensure they are well coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Carefully place the coated pickle slices into the hot oil in batches. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Serve the fried pickles hot with Rudy's famous sauce for dipping.
