Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, then sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Make sure to coat evenly.

  3. 3

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to high heat. Place the steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare (internal temperature of 130-135°F). Adjust cooking time according to your preferred doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. This helps the juices redistribute within the meat.

Fries Preparation

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips (about 1/4 inch thick) to create fries. Rinse in cold water to remove excess starch.

  2. 6

    Soak the Potatoes

Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes. This step helps to make them crispy.

  3. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to check the temperature.

  4. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

Remove the fries from the water and dry them thoroughly with a kitchen towel. Carefully add them to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  5. 9

    Season the Fries

Immediately sprinkle the fries with salt while they are still hot for better adherence.
