Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves. Set aside.

Rinse the fresh basil leaves and chop them roughly. Set aside.

In a medium saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.

Stir in 2 tablespoons of tomato paste and cook for another 1-2 minutes, mixing well with the garlic.

Pour in 1 cup of vegetable broth, stirring the mixture to combine all ingredients.

Add 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, 0.25 teaspoon of black pepper, and 0.5 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Stir to incorporate.

Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
