Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before grilling. This helps the steak cook more evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak all over with olive oil. Sprinkle the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh rosemary evenly on both sides of the steak. Make sure to coat it well for maximum flavor.

Grilling

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F). If using a charcoal grill, allow the coals to get white hot.

  2. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steak directly on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it to develop a nice sear.

  3. 5

    Flip the Steak

Using tongs, flip the steak over and grill for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature; it should read 130°F to 135°F for medium-rare.

  4. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once the steak reaches the desired doneness, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
