Method

Filet Mignon

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the filet mignon out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Season both sides of the filet mignon with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Sear the Steak

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully place the filet in the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Add Butter

In the last minute of cooking, add butter to the skillet and spoon the melted butter over the steak for added flavor.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Remove the filet from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Seasonal Vegetables

  1. 6

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and trim the asparagus, peel and slice the carrots, and slice the zucchini.

  2. 7

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a separate skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the asparagus, carrots, and zucchini, season with salt, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 8

    Cook the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into evenly sized chunks. Place in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15-20 minutes until fork-tender.

  2. 9

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.
