Method
Preparing Taco Shells
- 1
Heat the Taco Shells
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Arrange the taco shells on a baking sheet and heat in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they are crispy and warm.
Cooking Ground Beef
- 2
Sauté the Aromatics
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Then add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- 3
Brown the Ground Beef
Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook, stirring often, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- 4
Season the Beef
Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Assembling Tacos
- 5
Fill the Taco Shells
Remove the taco shells from the oven. Spoon the seasoned ground beef mixture into each taco shell, filling them generously.
- 6
Add Toppings
Top each taco with shredded lettuce, a generous amount of Monterey cheese, and a scoop of pico de gallo.
