Method

Fish Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Tilapia

In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, lime juice, garlic powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Place the tilapia fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure the fish is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Fish

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the tilapia from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place the fillets on the grill or skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Remove from heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes before flaking the fish into bite-sized pieces.

Taco Assembly

  1. 3

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet over medium heat, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable. Keep them warm by wrapping in a clean kitchen towel.

  2. 4

    Assemble the Tacos

On each tortilla, layer a generous amount of shredded cabbage, followed by the flaked tilapia. Top with chopped cilantro, avocado slices, a dollop of sour cream, and a spoonful of salsa. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the top.

  3. 5

    Serve

Serve the tacos immediately with extra lime wedges on the side for drizzling.
