Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Rinse the Rice

In a fine-mesh strainer, rinse the rice under cold running water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

  2. 2

    Boil the Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add salt and butter or oil if using.

  3. 3

    Add Rice

Once the water is boiling, add the rinsed rice to the saucepan.

  4. 4

    Simmer

Reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer for about 18-20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.

  5. 5

    Fluff and Serve

Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit covered for another 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
