Method

Bread Pudding Preparation

1

Prepare the Bread Pudding

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas. Add the stale bread, milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Mix until well combined.

2

Bake the Pudding

Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Haupia Sauce Preparation

3

Make the Haupia Sauce

In a saucepan, combine the coconut milk, cornstarch, sugar, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

Caramel Sauce Preparation

4

Prepare the Caramel Sauce

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar and water. Cook until the sugar dissolves and turns a golden amber color. Remove from heat and carefully stir in heavy cream and butter until smooth.
