Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking.

  2. 2

    Prepare Baking Dish

Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

  3. 3

    Chop Nuts

Roughly chop the walnuts, pecans, and almonds into smaller pieces for even distribution in the mixture.

Mixing

  1. 4

    Melt Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat and set aside to cool slightly.

  2. 5

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped nuts, honey, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla extract.

  3. 6

    Add Wet Ingredients

Add the eggs and melted butter to the dry mixture. Stir until well combined.

  4. 7

    Add Optional Add-ins

If using, fold in the dried cranberries and chopped dark chocolate into the mixture.

Baking

  1. 8

    Bake Mixture

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  2. 9

    Cool and Slice

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing into squares.
