Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and fresh thyme. Rub the mixture all over the ribeye steaks, ensuring even coating. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to high heat. Place the marinated steaks on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Preparing the Fries

  1. 3

    Cut the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick. Rinse the cut potatoes in cold water to remove excess starch and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the potato strips in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove fries and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
