Pour 0.5 cups of chocolate syrup evenly over the scooped ice cream.

Top the ice cream and chocolate syrup with 0.5 cups of whipped cream, creating a fluffy layer on top.

If desired, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of chopped nuts on top of the whipped cream and place a maraschino cherry on each sundae for a classic finish.
