Begin by chilling a cocktail glass. Fill it with ice water and set it aside while you prepare the drink.

In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of Cynar, 1 oz of sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes of orange bitters.

Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes (about 1 cup) to chill the mixture.

Use a bar spoon to stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
