Method

Biscuit Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until well mixed.

  3. 3

    Cut in Butter

Add the tablespoon of unsalted butter into the dry mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. 4

    Add Buttermilk

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the buttermilk. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Shape the Biscuits

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Pat the dough into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  6. 6

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown.

Rosemary Butter Preparation

  1. 7

    Soften the Butter

Let the stick of unsalted butter sit at room temperature until it softens.

  2. 8

    Mix Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, chopped fresh rosemary, honey, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until fully incorporated.

  3. 9

    Serve

Serve the rosemary butter alongside the warm biscuits for spreading.
