Shoestring Fries

Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Form the Patties

In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they reach your desired doneness. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Bacon and Onion Preparation

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

  2. 4

    Caramelize the Onion

In the same skillet, add olive oil and sliced onion. Cook on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until the onions are soft and caramelized.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in the skillet.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheddar, a slice of tomato, a few pieces of crispy bacon, and caramelized onions. Spread ketchup and mustard on the top half of the bun and place it on top of the assembled burger.

Shoestring Fries Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin, shoestring strips. Rinse them in cold water to remove excess starch and pat dry with a towel.

  2. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potato strips in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Season with salt to taste.
