Method

Prepare the Patty

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form into patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cook the Patty

  1. 3

    Grill or Pan-Fry

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.

Prepare the Special Sauce

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and pickle relish. Stir until well blended.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 6

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread a generous amount of special sauce on the bottom bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, and finally the top bun.
