Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands to incorporate all the seasonings without overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Burger

  1. 3

    Heat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for medium doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese (Optional)

If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt.

Prepare the Buns

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, melt butter in a separate skillet over medium heat. Place the cut side of each burger bun in the skillet and toast until golden brown.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Layer Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty, sliced tomato, and onion rings. Top with the other half of the bun.
